About Academy Academy is a media company running 50+ YouTube channels across business, tech, finance, eCommerce, AI, real estate, crypto, and other niches. We build “content machines” — high-quality, searchable educational videos designed to rank, convert, and compound for years. As we continue growing our brands and audiences, we’re looking for someone to help build and scale our email marketing systems across multiple channels and businesses.

Role Overview We are looking for an

App Developer to help build and scale companion applications that integrate with a fast-growing digital content ecosystem across multiple video channels and platforms. This role is focused on creating seamless, engaging mobile experiences that extend content beyond video- turning audience engagement into interactive tools, communities, and utility-based features. You will work closely with the content and operations team to design, build, and maintain apps that support audience growth, retention, and monetization strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications (iOS and/or Android)
• Build apps that integrate with content channels and support media-driven ecosystems
• Translate content strategy into functional app features (e.g. feed integration, notifications, interactive tools, community features)
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and scalability of applications
• Collaborate with design, content, and operations teams to define product requirements
• Implement APIs and backend integrations as needed
• Continuously improve app UX based on user engagement data and feedback
• Troubleshoot bugs, optimize performance, and ensure app stability across devices

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mobile App Developer (iOS, Android, or cross-platform)
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, APIs, and backend integration
• Experience working with content-driven or consumer-facing apps is a strong plus
• Ability to translate business/content needs into technical solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Good communication and ability to collaborate across non-technical teams

Nice to Have

• Experience building apps tied to social media, content platforms, or creator ecosystems
• Familiarity with YouTube APIs or similar content distribution platforms
• Startup experience or working in lean teams
• Understanding of growth, retention, and engagement metrics
