mobile app engineer

Develop crisp, bug-free, user-friendly and performant mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms using React Native.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to build React Native iOS / Android applications
• Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms while keeping or improving the app performance.
• Implement clean, modern, smooth animations and transitions that provide an excellent user experience.
• Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
• Work with native modules when required.
• Write high-quality code following best practices and standards for coding, compliance, security, and performance
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
• Use additional libraries such as Redux to manage the application s state, derive computed data from the state of the system, and make asynchronous API calls
• Assist with building estimates.
• Release applications to the Apple and Google Play stores.
• Improve product quality through code reviews, writing effective unit tests, and collaborating with QA to implement automation testing where appropriate

Core Skills & Experience Requirements

• Extensive background in JavaScript / Typescript
• Professional experience developing production-ready mobile apps with React Native
• Knowledge of functional programming
• Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
• Understanding of mobile app design guidelines on each platform and being aware of their differences
• Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle
• Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
• An understanding of React Native best practices and a commitment to following them.
• Use of Native Modules and Native UI components from both iOS and Android
• Ability to architect, build and maintain React Native applications with clean code
