About this role
We are looking for an experienced Mobile App Developer with strong hands-on expertise in React Native to develop, maintain, and optimize high-quality Android mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building cross-platform applications, integrating REST APIs, and implementing geo-map-based features and location services. The candidate will collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and product teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly mobile solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native.
- Build responsive, user-friendly mobile interfaces following UI/UX designs and application requirements.
- Develop and integrate geo-map-based features using mapping technologies such as Google Maps, Mapbox, or React Native Maps.
- Implement GPS, geolocation, location permissions, and location-based application features.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, backend services, authentication mechanisms, and third-party libraries.
- Implement push notifications and cloud messaging services such as Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Manage application state using appropriate solutions such as Redux Toolkit, Context API, or similar libraries.
- Identify and resolve bugs, crashes, performance bottlenecks, and device compatibility issues.
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, memory usage, and network interactions.
- Implement secure data handling and appropriate error-handling mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain unit tests and component tests to ensure application reliability.
- Use Git for version control and collaborate effectively through code reviews and development workflows.
- Build, test, and deploy applications to Android devices and support release management and Google Play Store publishing.
- Collaborate with backend developers, designers, QA engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver features on schedule.
- Stay updated with mobile development technologies and recommend improvements to existing applications.
Required Qualifications and Skills Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in mobile application development.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with React Native, if React Native is the primary technology used by the team.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and a good understanding of modern front-end development concepts.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining production-ready Android applications.
- Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs and third-party libraries.
- Knowledge of mobile application architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with Android build processes, app signing, and release management.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with geo-map-based or GIS-enabled mobile applications.
- Familiarity with Google Maps, Mapbox, React Native Maps, or similar mapping libraries.
- Experience with GPS tracking, geofencing, location services, and map overlays.
- Familiarity with Firebase services and push notifications.
- Experience implementing offline data storage and synchronization.
- Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and mobile app deployment.
- Exposure to agriculture, weather, climate, remote sensing, or other geospatial applications is an advantage.
- Familiarity with native Android development using Kotlin or Java is an added advantage.
