Management Information System (MIS)Assistant Manager

Role Purpose

The MIS Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s Management Information System (MIS). The role ensures accurate, secure, and timely availability of data to support operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and strategic decision-making. The MIS Assistant Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance data management processes and implement technology-driven solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. MIS Development & Maintenance

• Develop, manage, and continuously improve the organization’s MIS framework.
• Ensure accurate and timely data availability for management decision-making.
• Design dashboards and automated reporting systems.
• Maintain structured data repositories across departments.

2. System Evaluation & Implementation

• Evaluate and recommend appropriate hardware and software solutions.
• Lead implementation of MIS-related tools and platforms.
• Coordinate with IT and vendors for system upgrades and enhancements.
• Ensure system scalability to meet organizational growth.

3. Data Governance & Compliance

• Develop and enforce data management policies and SOPs.
• Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Establish access controls and data usage guidelines.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Sales, HR, Finance, Operations, SCM, and other departments.
• Understand departmental reporting requirements.
• Develop efficient data collection, storage, and retrieval mechanisms.
• Support departments in improving data-driven decision processes.

5. Performance Monitoring & Optimization

• Monitor MIS performance and system health.
• Identify areas of improvement and recommend enhancements.
• Troubleshoot system issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement upgrades to improve speed, accuracy, and usability.

6. Data Quality & Audit Management

• Conduct periodic data audits.
• Identify inconsistencies, duplication, and data gaps.
• Implement corrective measures to improve data reliability.
• Ensure data accuracy for management reports and analysis.

7. Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare periodic MIS reports (Daily/Weekly/Monthly).
• Develop business performance dashboards.
• Provide analytical insights to support strategic planning.
• Present reports and data interpretations to senior management.

8. Training & User Support

• Train employees on proper data entry and MIS utilization.
• Provide guidance on report extraction and analysis.
• Develop user manuals and training documentation.
• Ensure user adoption of MIS best practices.

9. System Integration & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with IT teams for integration with ERP and other business applications.
• Manage data interfaces between systems.
• Liaise with external vendors for system support and customization.

10. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated with emerging MIS technologies and trends.
• Recommend automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• Drive data analytics culture within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering / Business Analytics
• 8–15 years of experience in MIS / Data Management
• Strong knowledge of Excel (Advanced), ERP systems, Power BI or similar tools
• Experience in multi-department reporting structure
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to det
