Middleware Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• API & Integration Development: Design, implement, and manage APIs using IBM API Connect; build and orchestrate integration flows in IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
• Work on new projects and Internal CRs
• Messaging & Middleware: Configure and optimize IBM MQ and ActiveMQ messaging solutions. other toolkits as well like DB node, Kafka node, HTTP node,etc.
• Transaction Logging & Tracing: Implement auditing and tracing for transparency, compliance, and root cause analysis.
• Security & Governance: Enforce authentication, authorization, and data security policies (OAuth2, JWT, TLS, SAML).
• Performance & Monitoring: Monitor runtimes, optimize performance, and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Automation & CI/CD: Automate build, deployment, and configuration management using DevOps toolchains (Jenkins, Urban Code, Azure DevOps).
• Support: Provide L1/L2 support for middleware and payment system incidents, including RCA and log analysis.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5+ years of proven experience in middleware/integration engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise with IBM API Connect, IBM App Connect Enterprise, IBM MQ, and ActiveMQ.
• Good understanding of data formats such as XML, Json etc.
• Well experienced in flow development, exception handling, ACE IDE etc.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP, JMS, MQTT, AMQP, event-driven architecture.
• Scripting and automation (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Good understanding and experience of common operating systems such as Windows,, Linux, AIX etc.
• Proven experience of working in cloud environment.
• Soft skills: problem solving techniques, analytical thinking, attention to details, familiarity with business / banking language, good interpersonal skills etc.
• Graduate in IT or equivalent
