Microsoft Purview

We are looking for a Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer to design, implement, and automate enterprise data governance solutions. The role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Purview, data cataloging, scanning, classification, metadata management, and governance automation using PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and enable Microsoft Purview for on-premises and cloud data sources.
• Automate data source registration, scan configuration, scheduling, and governance processes using PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, and Purview APIs.
• Create and manage Purview Domains, Collections, Data Catalogs, metadata, and data lineage.
• Perform data source onboarding, scanning, classification, and metadata validation.
• Implement governance policies across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Support Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) tenant-to-tenant migrations.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and business teams to ensure data privacy, security, lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor governance, data quality, and compliance metrics, and maintain governance documentation and best practices.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance platforms.
• Strong expertise in Purview Data Map, Data Catalog, Scanning, Classification, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, REST APIs, and Purview APIs.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other cloud/on-prem data sources.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Governance, SharePoint, Teams, Information Protection, and Data Lifecycle Management.
• Experience in Power Platform migrations (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, privacy, security, accountability, and traceability.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
