Microsoft 365 Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced M365 Engineer to join Terex's Global Infrastructure & Operations organization, aligned to the India Centre of Excellence. This role is hands-on and operationally focused, responsible for day-to-day operations, stability, and support of Terex's Microsoft 365 collaboration and productivity platforms across the enterprise.

The M365 Engineer plays a key role in ensuring availability, security, governance, and adoption of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, supporting core services across identity, collaboration, messaging, endpoint integration, and information protection. The role operates within a globally integrated, follow-the-sun support model, partnering closely with teams in the Northern Ireland Centre of Excellence and other regions.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Operations & Support

• Provide day-to-day operational support for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including core collaboration and productivity services.
• Monitor service health, performance, and adoption of M365 workloads.
• Support configuration, administration, and ongoing maintenance of M365 platforms in line with enterprise standards.
• Act as an escalation point for complex M365 service issues impacting end users or business operations.

Incident, Change & Problem Management

• Act as an escalation point for complex M365-related incidents and service disruptions.
• Execute M365 changes through structured change management processes, including validation and post-change review.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high-impact M365 incidents.
• Work closely with service desk, security, and infrastructure teams to restore services efficiently.

Collaboration, Messaging & Productivity Services

• Support enterprise collaboration and messaging services across the M365 platform.
• Partner with end-user computing and business teams to support collaboration use cases and user productivity.
• Support integrations between M365 services and other enterprise platforms.
• Ensure configurations align with performance, reliability, and user experience standards.

Security, Governance & Compliance

• Support M365 security, governance, and compliance configurations in alignment with Terex policies.
• Assist with identity, access, and data protection controls across the M365 platform.
• Support audit, eDiscovery, retention, and information protection requirements.
• Partner with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and address compliance findings.

Operational Excellence & Documentation

• Maintain M365 runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and operational practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform stability, governance, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in on-call or follow-the-sun support rotations as required.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 6 to 10 years of overall infrastructure, collaboration, or platform engineering experience.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong operational discipline with experience in incident, change, and problem management.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Experience supporting collaboration, messaging, identity, and productivity services within M365.
• Solid understanding of M365 administration, configuration, and service dependencies.
• Experience supporting M365 security, governance, and compliance capabilities.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across service availability, performance, and user experience.
• Proven experience executing incident management, change management, and RCA.
• Familiarity with M365 service monitoring, reporting, and health dashboards.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, Security, or Identity.
• Experience supporting large-scale or global M365 deployments.
• Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Experience working in a global, follow-the-sun support model.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based operational processes.
