Microservices Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute API, integration, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing for microservices applications.
• Test REST APIs using Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Validate Apache Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, and message flows.
• Perform end-to-end testing of event-driven and distributed microservices architectures.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java/Python.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Analyze Kafka messages and validate payloads, schemas, sequencing, and data integrity.
• Perform database validation using SQL.
• Execute performance, integration, and system testing for distributed applications.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and track defects using Jira.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams in Agile/Scrum environments.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in Software Testing / QA Automation.
• Hands-on experience testing Microservices.
• Strong experience with Kafka testing and event-driven systems.
• API testing using Postman / REST Assured.
• Automation experience using Java or Python.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Jenkins / GitLab / Azure DevOps.
• Good SQL/database testing experience.
• Experience with Git.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies.

Good to Have

• Kafka Streams / Schema Registry / Avro.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud platforms AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Performance testing using JMeter/Gatling.
• Selenium/Playwright/Cypress.
• Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus.
