Metallurgical Laboratory Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare samples through cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing and etching
• Perform material characterization of metals, polymers, plastics and engineering materials
• Conduct failure investigation and root cause analysis
• Perform metallurgical testing and microstructural evaluation
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory/metallography equipment
• Prepare technical reports and test documentation
• Maintain laboratory records, equipment and testing procedures as per quality and safety standards

Required Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of metals, metallurgical testing practices and laboratory equipment
• Knowledge of fractography and failure analysis
• Hands-on experience in metallographic sample preparation
• Experience with SEM, EDS, Optical Microscopy and Hardness Testers
• Knowledge of material characterization and failure analysis techniques
