Merchandiser - Jewellery

Role & responsibilities:

Product Development & Sampling:

• Support in the development of new product range and sampling as required with new and existing vendors.
• Handle repairs and re-sampling requests promptly.
• To suggest potential vendors and their capacities.

Production & Order Management:

• Manage PO creation and order allocation to vendors based on capacity and expertise.
• Conduct regular production follow-ups to ensure on-time delivery as per PO deadlines.
• Escalate potential production delays and execute risk assessment to mitigate bottlenecks.
• Ensure timely availability of products for dispatch.

Costing & Vendor Onboarding:

• Submit, evaluate, and negotiate product costing with suppliers to maintain target margins.
• Onboard potential new vendors capable of delivering fresh, trending designs and competitive pricing.

Vendor Management & Follow-Up:

• Maintain continuous vendor follow-up across all active POs and sampling stages.
• Assess vendor capability, capacity, and performance.

Communication & Trackers:

• Maintain clear communication channels between internal product teams, procurement hub, and vendors.
• Regularly update all trackers (Order Trackers, Status Updates, Communication Connect logs).
• Ensure full protocol closure and compliance with Fabindia standards.

Repairs & Complaint Handling:

• Manage incoming repair requests from stores/QC and coordinate with suppliers for timely resolution.
• Ensure repair orders are issued and tracked until completed and dispatched back.

Documentation & Quality Alignment:

• Maintain systematic order files, specification sheets, and records as per company protocols.
• Coordinate with the QC team to ensure product specifications, silver standards, and finish meet quality expectations before mass production/dispatch.
