MEP Engineer

Job Summary

KL University is looking for an experienced MEP Maintenance Executive to manage campus infrastructure and maintenance operations, including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, RO water treatment plants, lifts, and DG generators. The candidate will ensure the reliable functioning of campus facilities through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, vendor coordination, and adherence to safety standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across the university campus.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems, plumbing networks, HVAC equipment, pumps, and motors.
• RO Plant Maintenance: Monitor RO plant operations, water purification systems, filter replacements, membrane servicing, water quality, and scheduled maintenance.
• Lift Maintenance: Coordinate routine inspections, servicing, breakdown resolution, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) for elevators in coordination with authorized lift service providers.
• Generator Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of DG sets, including routine inspections, scheduled servicing, battery checks, fuel monitoring, and coordination for repairs and load testing.
• Monitor electrical panels, transformers, lighting systems, water supply, drainage, and other essential campus utilities.
• Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, technicians, and external service providers to resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Supervise contractors and vendors to ensure the quality and timely completion of maintenance work.
• Conduct regular campus inspections to identify equipment faults and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, equipment service records, breakdown reports, and maintenance logs.
• Manage vendor contracts, AMC renewals, service visits, and follow-up on pending maintenance issues.
• Monitor electricity and water consumption and recommend measures to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, lift, fire, and workplace safety requirements.
• Attend maintenance complaints and emergencies across academic blocks, laboratories, administrative offices, hostels, and other campus facilities.
• Maintain inventories of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials and coordinate procurement when required.
• Support maintenance budgeting and ensure minimal disruption to academic and administrative activities.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and institutional facility maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance operations.
• Knowledge of RO plant operations and water treatment maintenance.
• Experience coordinating lift servicing and DG generator maintenance.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown management.
• Vendor coordination, contractor supervision, and AMC management.
• Understanding of safety procedures, maintenance documentation, and equipment service schedules.
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in MEP maintenance, facility management, or building maintenance.
• Graduation is mandatory; B.Tech in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Experience in universities, educational institutions, hospitals, commercial buildings, or large residential facilities will be an added advantage.
• Candidates should be capable of independently coordinating campus maintenance operations and supervising technicians and service providers.
