Mep Engineer

Role: MEP Engineer - Electrical Lead Projects & Site Integration.

Location: Navi Mumbai

Position Summary

The Electrical Lead will be responsible for leading all electrical engineering activities associated with expansion projects and integration with existing electrical infrastructure.

The role involves technical evaluation, design review, vendor and consultant coordination, project execution, commissioning support, and troubleshooting to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle.

The incumbent will act as the subject matter expert for electrical systems, ensuring that project deliverables meet applicable standards, operational requirements, EHS expectations, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Engineering & Design

• Lead electrical engineering activities for new expansion and brownfield integration projects.
• Evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and identify requirements for seamless integration with new facilities and utilities.
• Review and approve electrical design packages, drawings, specifications, load calculations, single-line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, and vendor documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company engineering practices.

Technical Evaluation & Tender Support

• Support preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and scope of work.
• Participate in Technical Bid Analysis (TBA) and Commercial Bid Analysis (CBA) processes.
• Perform technical evaluation of vendors, equipment, and contractor proposals.
• Recommend technically optimized and cost-effective solutions.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Serve as the primary technical focal point for electrical-related vendor interactions.
• Resolve technical queries during design, procurement, and execution phases.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, OEMs, and cross-functional project teams.
• Provide technical guidance to procurement and project management teams.

Project Execution & Site Support

• Monitor electrical installation activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and project specifications.
• Support site teams during erection, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project schedule requirements.
• Review contractor progress and support resolution of site execution issues.
• Testing, Commissioning & Start-Up
• Lead and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and pre-commissioning activities.
• Support energization, commissioning, performance verification, and plant start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical system issues during commissioning and initial operation.
• Ensure all punch points and commissioning observations are resolved effectively.

Reliability & Troubleshooting

• Provide expert troubleshooting during start-up and operational phases.
• Identify reliability risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Project Management

• Manage electrical project activities from concept through handover.
• Track project schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Ensure timely completion of engineering milestones and project documentation.
• Support project reporting, change management, and project closeout activities.

Qualifications & Experience Education

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or electrical & electronics engineering from a recognized university.

Experience

• Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, FMCG, chemical, manufacturing, or process industry projects.
• Proven experience in handling electrical systems, control systesm for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Experience in project execution, commissioning, and plant integration activities.
