MEP Cost Estimation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for MEP services, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
• Review MEP drawings, BOQs, tender documents, and technical specifications to determine project costs.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labour, and installation works.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare rate analysis, comparative statements, budget estimates, and tender submissions.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, project, and contracts teams to validate quantities and costing.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Review contractor quotations, variation claims, and revised estimates.
• Support budget preparation, cost monitoring, and reconciliation of estimated versus actual costs.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction cost estimation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel; knowledge of estimation tools is preferred.
• Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity surveying, rate analysis, and tendering.
• Strong vendor negotiation, analytical, and coordination skills.
• Experience in residential high-rise or commercial real estate projects preferred.
