Medical Transcriptionist

Key Job Responsibilities

• Transcribe radiology reports from audio dictation into written reports.
• Accurately document findings from X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, and other imaging studies.
• Maintain correct medical terminology, anatomy, abbreviations, medications, and diagnostic terms.
• Proofread and edit reports for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and accuracy without changing the radiologists meaning.
• Follow prescribed radiology report formats and templates.
• Verify patient identifiers and examination details before finalizing reports.
• Identify unclear or incomplete dictation and clarify it with the radiologist when required.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and data privacy.
• Complete reports within required turnaround times (TAT).
• Use EMR/RIS/PACS and transcription software as required.
• Perform quality checks to minimize transcription errors.
• Follow hospital/company quality, compliance, and documentation standards.
