About this role
Assists in the execution of radiation safety programs and quality assurance programs. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer serviceparticipating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides support for the technical programs related to radiation treatment in the Radiation Oncology Department
- Provides technical expertise in the physics of radiation producing equipment operationacceptance/performance testing and commissioningand radiation safety and protection
- Maintains compliance with professionalaccreditingand regulatory standardsguidelinesand regulations.
- Work closely with the radiation oncologistsand department manager to ensure the highest standards of physics services. This includesbut is not limited tothe overview and quality control of all treatment calculations for treatment consultation with radiation oncologists and other physician specialties concerning radiation therapy planning.
- Supervision ofand consultation withthe physicists and dosimetrists on computer treatment planning and any associated dosimetry determination of the radiation output of all radiation therapy treatment unitsand all other duties as they relate to the operation of radiation within the Radiation Oncology departments.
Candidate Requirements:
- Verbal Ability/Communication Skill: Ability to comprehend verbal instructions given by the supervisor or head of the department.
- To give accurate and tactful explanations to patients. Problem solving/ Decision-making
- To think independently and exercise own judgment.
- Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the Doctors and the other related departmental personnel.
- Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
- Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
- Affinity to work in team.
- Enthusiasm.
