Roles and Responsibilities

• Assign accurate medical codes to patient records using ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and CCS coding systems.
  
• Review electronic health records (EHRs) and paper charts to identify diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered to patients.
  
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for medical coding standards and industry regulations.
  
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or questions related to coding accuracy.
  
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• 2-6 years of experience in outpatient medical coding with a focus on physician-based practices.
  
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II codes; ability to apply them accurately according to established guidelines.
  
• Proficiency in CPC/CCS certification preferred.
