Medical Coder / Senior Medical Coder (ED | Surgery | Denials | IP-DRG)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Accurately review and code medical records/charts according to client requirements.
• Apply appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and specialty-specific coding guidelines.
• Ensure accurate code assignment while maintaining required quality standards.
• Understand and follow client-specific coding guidelines, updates, and process instructions.
• Achieve assigned productivity and quality targets within stipulated timelines.
• Identify and resolve coding-related discrepancies and documentation issues.
• Participate in audits and incorporate feedback to improve coding accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain required production, quality, and process reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, client guidelines, and organizational policies.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Medical Coding, ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Good understanding of Anatomy & Physiology and medical terminology.
• Relevant hands-on experience in ED / Surgery / Denials / IP-DRG Coding.
• Ability to accurately interpret medical documentation and physician notes.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good computer and reporting skills.
• Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a target-driven environment.

Eligibility Criteria

• Education: Life Science / Paramedical / Any Graduate.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant medical coding experience.
• Certification: CPC is mandatory.
• Additional Certifications: CIC / COC / CCS will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with relevant specialty experience will be preferred.
• Immediate joiners / candidates with short notice period preferred.
