Medical coder - Evaluation and Management (E/M - OP)

Job Title: E/M Outpatient Coder
Experience: Minimum 2 Years
Location: Chennai (Guindy)

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced E/M OP Coder with strong knowledge of coding guidelines and documentation requirements. The ideal candidate will accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 codes for outpatient encounters, ensuring compliance and coding quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medical records and assign appropriate E/M codes for OP services
• Accurately apply CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 codes as per documentation
• Work with providers to clarify documentation when required
• Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulatory changes, and best practices
• Participate in internal audits and support process improvements
• Mentor junior coders when needed
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in HIM or related field (preferred)
• CPC, CCS, or equivalent coding certification (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of E/M coding experience in OP settings
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding rules
• Proficient in coding tools and EHR systems
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
