Job Overview

We are looking for a Mechanical Trainee to support our pre-bid estimation and tendering activities. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, good drawing-reading skills, and an interest in quantity take-off, estimation, and project costing.

The candidate will work closely with the estimation and project teams to review drawings, prepare quantity take-offs, and support the preparation of accurate and timely pre-bid estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and understand mechanical drawings, layouts, specifications, and tender documents.
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and project documents.
• Assist in preparing pre-bid estimates, BOQs, and material quantity calculations.
• Identify mechanical equipment, materials, components, and scope of work from drawings.
• Cross-check quantities against drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Assist senior estimators in preparing cost estimates and bid documentation.
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and missing information in tender documents.
• Coordinate with senior engineers/estimators to clarify technical requirements.
• Maintain estimation sheets, quantity databases, and project documentation.
• Support the team in meeting tender submission deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Freshers or candidates with 0–1 year of relevant experience may apply.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering and construction concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of quantity take-off and BOQ preparation.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to pre-bid estimation/tendering is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping, or other MEP systems will be beneficial.
• Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple tender requirements.
