Role Summary:
Responsible for product design with a focus on plastics and electromechanical components using CREO and SolidWorks. Engage in customer discussions, concept creation, and full product lifecycle management.
What Youll Do:
- Design products using CREO and SolidWorks, including parametric part/assembly and surface modelling
- Develop concepts, mechanisms, and automation-oriented designs
- Draft drawings, apply dimensioning schemes, and utilize GD&T practices
- Collaborate with vendors for development and production
- Participate in customer discussions as required
- Perform cable harness design, kinematic reviews using Mechanica, and basic simulations
- Handle electromechanical housing design, prototyping, and product launch
- Apply design for manufacturing and assembly principles
What We re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling with CREO and SolidWorks
- Experience in plastics design, including material selection and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of GD&T practices and tolerance stack-up
- Understanding of product lifecycle from proof of concept to production
- Experience with consumer and electromechanical products
Good to Have (Optional - only if mentioned):
- Knowledge of ECNs (Engineering Change Notices)
- Experience with fire detection products, ball/pin joints, and related mechanisms
- Familiarity with design for automation (e.g., minimizing screws)
- Experience with different plastic materials such as PS and Nylon
Qualifications:
BE / B Tech / Diploma - Mechanical
