Mechanical Operations Engineer - Data Center (Based in Thailand)

Role & responsibilities

• Design and oversee the installation of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and cooling systems tailored for data center environments.
• Conduct thermal load calculations and system sizing to ensure optimal performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure mechanical designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical systems during construction and operational phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and operation manuals for mechanical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, facilities, operations, maintenance or critical infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in data center, mission-critical facilities, industrial facilities or other high-availability environments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and critical cooling systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units and chilled water systems.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment performance monitoring.
• Understanding of BMS/controls and the interaction between mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience coordinating contractors, vendors and multiple stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety requirements and local regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in time-critical operational situations.
