Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance professional to keep our plant equipment running safely and reliably. The ideal candidate has strong experience in overhauling, aligning and troubleshooting rotating equipment and fluid power systems, and uses condition-monitoring techniques to predict failures before they cause downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform overhaul, assembly, alignment and installation of pumps, gearboxes, compressors, blowers, valves and conveyors.
• Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic (fluid power) schematics and troubleshoot pressure drops and flow issues.
• Maintain and repair cylinders, valves and air compressors.
• Execute preventive and scheduled maintenance as per the plan and maintain service records.
• Use condition-monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis) to detect early signs of failure and recommend corrective action.
• Diagnose complex mechanical breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
• Carry out root cause analysis using Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams and 5-Why analysis to prevent recurring failures.
• Follow and enforce safety systems including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-to-Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and correct PPE usage.
• Maintain spares, tools and equipment history, and support continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills

• Hands-on overhaul and alignment of pumps, gearboxes, compressors, blowers, valves and conveyors
• Ability to read hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams
• Troubleshooting of pressure drops, leakages and cylinder or valve failures
• Working knowledge of vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis
• Knowledge of alignment methods (dial indicator, laser alignment), bearings, seals and couplings
• Problem-solving tools: 5-Why, Fishbone diagram
• Good understanding of LOTO, PTW, JSA and PPE requirements
• Basic computer skills and maintenance record keeping (CMMS knowledge is a plus)
