Mechanical Estimation Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

2. JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the Estimation Manager in understanding the prices and to report on the scope of all Tenders, by way of carrying out properly recorded Take-offs and enquiries.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Description

1. As the tenders are received, assess the type of tender, research on the client and closing date of tender to determine prioritization of all aspects in coordination with Estimation Manager.
2. Further closely review the tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc and provide feedback to the Estimation Manager.
3. Evaluate tender documents, drawings, specifications and schedules. Identifying the missing information and floating enquiries to consultant/Main Contractors/Suppliers.
4. Cross check the quantity take off from juniors and pricing the job with proper specifications.
5. Preparation of estimate including cost comparison in coordination with the supplier quotes and procurement team.
6. Ensure knowledge and implementation of local authority requirements while quoting tenders.
7. Preparation of reports outlining the points not quantifiable under the scope of work for the supervisor review.
8. Filing the BOQ maintaining compliance to specifics and drawings and submitting the same to the client.
9. Assist the Estimation Manager in compiling offer letter, tender schedule, program, giving qualifications and other items required by the tender.
10. Study and recommend tender amendments where applicable utilizing client feedback on submitted tender and otherwise.
11. Preparation of budget on awarded job for the execution team (Purchase, procurement and projects) in coordination with Estimation Manager.
12. Regular feedback one in 2 months on ongoing projects in terms of budgets and actual project execution on the site.
13. Participate in Internal audits.
14. Conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents.
15. Ensure and implement quality standards in standard estimation procedures.

7. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEMinimum Qualifications:
BE in MechanicalMinimum Experience:
7+ Years relevant experience. Knowledge of the use of First Principles Estimating is essential. Sound working knowledge in MS office, Knowledge of estimation softwares is a plus.

8. COMPETENCIES:
Computer literacy is essential, particularly with MS word and Excel. Previous demonstrated knowledge and experience.
