Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• BIW Assembly: Perform mechanical assembly and installation activities in BIW production lines. Operate and handle fixtures, jigs, clamps, gauges, and pneumatic tools.
• Fixture Management: Set up, adjust, and align mechanical fixtures/tooling. Inspect for wear, damage, and dimensional accuracy. Perform fixture correction and minor modifications.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of BIW mechanical equipment. Identify and troubleshoot issues in fixtures, conveyors, clamps, and grippers.
• Production Support: Support line start-up, changeover, trial runs, and new model/tooling implementation. Coordinate with the Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
• Continuous Improvement: Follow 5S, Kaizen, and TPM practices. Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring problems. Ensure compliance with safety standards and PPE requirements.

Requirements:

• Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Related Trade.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of BIW mechanical systems.
• Good knowledge of fixtures, jigs, clamps, and gauges.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and basic hydraulic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns independently.
• Basic knowledge of welding fixtures and BIW processes.
• Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and Kaizen.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in BIW, automotive manufacturing, mechanical assembly, tooling, or fixture maintenance.
• Prior exposure to OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers preferred.
