About the role

• Prepare accurate 2D manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD for sheet metal products.
• Develop sheet metal flat patterns and blank sizes, and prepare cutting and bending details for the shop floor.
• Convert customer drawings, sketches and project specifications into clear production drawings.
• Revise drawings to reflect design changes and site feedback, and keep proper drawing records.
• Prepare bills of material (BOMs) and part lists from drawings.
• Work closely with the production, fabrication and quality teams to make sure drawings are practical to manufacture.
• Get trained, on the job, in all areas of production, including shearing, punching, bending, fabrication, assembly, quality checks and dispatch.
• Over time, take on wider production support duties as training progresses.

Candidate profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI (Draughtsman Mechanical or a related trade). A degree is not required.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing company. Freshers can apply for trainee positions.
• Strong command of AutoCAD is essential. Candidates will be tested on AutoCAD during the interview.
• Good understanding of sheet metal practices, including flat patterns, bend allowances, gauges and fasteners.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Quick learner, hardworking and willing to spend time on the shop floor.
• Willing to be based at Dadra or to commute daily from the Vapi / Silvassa area.

Added advantage (not essential)

• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Knowledge of nesting or sheet utilisation.
