1. Job Purpose
To prepare, modify, and maintain mechanical engineering drawings for plant equipment, machinery, piping, fabrication, and installation activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical drawings, layouts, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Develop and update 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using relevant design software, as required.
• Prepare equipment layouts, foundation drawings, piping layouts, ducting drawings, and structural fabrication details.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, equipment manuals, and design calculations.
• Support mechanical maintenance, project execution, equipment installation, and modification activities.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and approved engineering changes.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, project teams, maintenance teams, and contractors for drawing requirements.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records, technical documentation, and engineering files.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
• Conduct site visits and measurements to verify equipment dimensions, clearances, and installation requirements.
• Assist in preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs), material take-offs, and fabrication documentation.
• Support plant shutdown, equipment replacement, and improvement projects by providing timely drawings.

3. Educational Qualification

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering/Draftsman Mechanical.
• Relevant technical qualification in mechanical drafting or design will be preferred.

4. Experience

• 4-7 years of experience in mechanical drafting, preferably in the cement, power, steel, or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Experience in cement plant equipment and mechanical maintenance/projects will be an added advantage.

5. Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
• Knowledge of 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar tools is preferred.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering drawings, GD&T basics, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of material specifications, welding symbols, piping layouts, and equipment installation drawings.
• Ability to read equipment GA drawings, sectional drawings, and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and drawing/document management systems.
