About this role
Job Title Mechanical Designer- STET Job Description About the Role We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team and support the design, development, and supplier transfer of innovative medical devices. In this role, you will drive sustaining engineering, engineering change management, product optimization, and design verification while ensuring compliance with global quality and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with global engineering, procurement, quality, and supplier teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and manufacturable products throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Execute sustaining engineering and engineering change management projects.
Develop and modify mechanical designs, 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Creo CAD .
Perform DFM/DFA reviews , GD&T application, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMEA.
Optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost, quality, regionalization, and supplier transfer.
Collaborate with suppliers to support prototype development, qualification, and design improvements.
Develop and execute verification plans to ensure compliance with product and regulatory requirements.
Review supplier qualification activities and support successful product transfers.
Work within PLM systems (Windchill/Teamcenter) to manage engineering changes and product documentation.
Partner with cross-functional global teams to deliver projects on time while maintaining engineering excellence.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of electro-mechanical products.
Strong proficiency in Creo CAD for 3D modeling and detailed design.
Experience with PLM/PDM systems such as Windchill or Teamcenter.
Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, DFMEA , and engineering change management.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, casting, coating, assembly, and plastics.
Experience working with global suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with supplier transfer and product localization projects.
Knowledge of ISO 13485 , IEC 60601-1 , FDA-regulated product development, and medical device design controls.
Experience with verification testing, packaging, and labeling for medical devices.
Understanding of Six Sigma (DFSS/DMAIC), statistical techniques, and DfX methodologies.
Exposure to AI-enabled engineering tools is an added advantage.
