Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Hyderabad, India Experience: 46 Years Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates and releases 3D models, part numbers, BoM structure, detailed drawings, and final assemblies.
• Support design leads with their change requirements by implementing and its release through the release cycle.
• Support development and enforcement of standard quality of work for ECR submission.
• Develops design procedures for part, assembly and layout modelling.
• Works effectively with system engineers and project team to execute programs.
• Create engineering drawings and use GD&T following ASME Y14.5 standards, making sure they meet company and industry guidelines for accuracy and quality.
• Keep supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management; coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

• Well versed with CREO CAD tool for designing and developing 3D models, preparing drawings for the same.
• Working experience of handling assemblies and ensuring standards are adhered to by the CAD Designers.
• Sound knowledge of Engineering drawing standards and release process.
• Working experience in Bill of Material (BOM) creation and management in PLM.
• Sound understanding of PLM/PDM workflow for release of BOM.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• At least 4 years of experience supporting an engineering department or similar
• Proven track record and extensive experience with CREO Parametric 3D Modelling, Assembly handling and Windchill Database Management.
• Mechanically curious to understand product function.
• Handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of company personnel and others.
