Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer skilled in SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar CAD software to design mechanical parts and assemblies and coordinate with manufacturing teams to complete prototypes and production jobs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Design mechanical parts considering functionality, material selection, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
• Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and maintain drawings and design revisions.
• Coordinate with the factory, machine shops, and vendors for fabrication, machining, assembly, and prototype development.
• Monitor progress and resolve technical queries to ensure timely completion.
• Inspect prototypes, verify dimensions and fit, and implement necessary design changes.
• Support testing and troubleshoot design or manufacturing issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent CAD software.
• Knowledge of mechanical component design, engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Understanding of machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with production teams and suppliers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ownership of work from design through completion.

Preferred Experience

Hands-on experience developing prototypes and taking mechanical designs through to finished production.
