Mechanical Design Engineer

CIBOS is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to own coil design across our infrared and electric cooktop product lines from early-stage prototyping through to mass manufacturing readiness. This role sits at the intersection of design and manufacturing: you'll need to be as comfortable on the shop floor as you are in CAD.

Responsibilities

Design and iterate on coil systems for infrared/electric cooktops, covering both prototyping and mass-manufacturing requirements

Create and refine mechanical designs and solid models for coil and related sub-assemblies

Work directly with manufacturing processes — milling, CNC, and other relevant machining — to ensure designs are manufacturable at scale, not just functional in prototype

Bridge the gap between design intent and shop-floor execution: troubleshoot tooling, process, and manufacturing constraints as they arise

Collaborate with the broader technical team to optimize coil performance, cost, and manufacturability simultaneously

Support DFM (design for manufacturability) reviews and vendor/machine-shop coordination

Requirements

3–6 years of experience in mechanical design, with hands-on coil design experience specifically

Practical, working knowledge of machining processes — milling, CNC, and general shop-floor manufacturing — not just theoretical CAD design

Demonstrated experience taking a design from prototype to mass-manufacturing scale

Proficiency in CAD/solid modeling tools

Strong problem-solving instincts for manufacturing-level nuances (tolerances, tooling limitations, cost-of-production trade-offs)

Startup or lean-manufacturing background preferred — comfortable owning a design end-to-end without a large supporting team
