Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drawing & Design Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in SolidWorks. The candidate will be responsible for creating detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and supporting vendor coordination while building prototyping.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
• Prepare manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and GA drawings.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Modify existing designs based on customer or production requirements.
• Coordinate with production, quality and procurement teams.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain drawing revisions and technical documentation.
• Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D Modeling, Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Weldments and Drafting).
• Knowledge of manufacturing, machining and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Understanding of GD&T is preferred.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in machinery, industrial equipment, fabricated products or material handling systems.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
• Exposure to ERP systems and engineering documentation practices.
• Utilization of AI tools to reduce total design time.
