Mechanical Design Engineer | E-House | Modular Power Systems

Role & responsibilities

• Develop native 3D models using SolidWorks for the MMR/Network POD and UPS/Power POD.
• Prepare 2D submittal drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, end views, and structural base skid drawings.
• Design and model structural steel base skids using steel sections, including framing layouts, equipment support arrangements, and preliminary structural details.
• Develop e-house wall and roof layouts based on E-POD/e-house specifications.
• Incorporate electrical equipment, switchgear, UPS equipment, HVAC units, busway transition sections, cable routing provisions, and equipment access clearances based on customer-supplied information.
• Incorporate design comments and revisions from PFI and other project stakeholders.
• Maintain model accuracy, drawing consistency, revision control, and deliverable quality throughout the project.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 25years of experience in mechanical design, industrial equipment layouts, modular buildings, e-houses, electrical enclosures, or skid-mounted systems.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D part modelling, assembly modelling, configurations, and 2D drawing generation.
• Experience developing fabrication or submittal drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, end views, and general arrangement drawings.
• Knowledge of structural steel framing, base skid layouts, weldments, equipment mounting, and mechanical interfaces.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, equipment datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and electrical layouts.
• Understanding of equipment clearances, access requirements, cable routing, HVAC placement, and modular equipment integration.
• Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
