Mechanical Design Engineer (Draughtsman AutoCAD & SolidWorks)

Key function: Drafting drawings and assemblies in AutoCAD & SolidWorks

We are a 35+ year old manufacturing company producing mechanical components (shafts, rollers, pulleys and injection-moulded components), carbide wear parts (nozzles, rings, bushes) and industrial equipment (conveyors, agitators and SPMs). Our customer footprint spans across dairy, food ingredients, construction materials, ceramic tiles and sanitary-ware, and special materials - in India, APAC and EMEA.

Role: Mechanical Design & Drafting

Location: GIDC Makarpura, Vadodara (full-time, on-site)

Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D

Salary: Up to 25-35k all incl., depending on skill and experience-level

Your main responsibilities

• Draft SolidWorks 3D assemblies for our conveyors, agitators and SPMs products per customer
• Draft AutoCAD 2D GADs and layouts for projects (e.g 200m of conveyors) per customer
• Draft AutoCAD 2D drawings for our carbide wear-part components per customer
• Create and maintain BOMs, component and project costing sheets with revision control

You may sometimes also be expected to

• Make customer factory visits to make measurements and understand product applications
• Perform QC on finished components before dispatch
• Perform inventory management and procurement activities

Your performance will be evaluated on (during and post-probation)

• How well organized your drawing formats, numbering, folders and filenames with revision control
• Your speed of drafting 2D and 3D in a timely and organized manner
• Professional communication in the office and on email with colleagues, vendors and clients
• Ability and interest in learning about our products and their application

Requirements

• Min. 3 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D)
• Understanding of machining, fabrication, fits and tolerances
• Understanding of metal and plastic manufacturing processes (turning, milling, grinding, injection moulding)
• Min. 5 years of experience using of Windows, Google Workspace (email) and Microsoft 365 (doc, excel)
• ITI Draughtsman Mechanical, B-Tech Mechanical, Diploma Mechanical or equivalent practical experience
• Preferably already living in Vadodara, Gujarat
