    About this role

    Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced radiator and cooling package systems for large diesel, gas, and power generation engines. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly engineered thermal management solutions that support critical applications across power generation, mining, marine, rail, data centres, and heavy-duty off-highway industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete product development cycle, from concept design and engineering analysis through validation, manufacturing support, and product launch. The ideal engineer combines strong mechanical design expertise, thermal system understanding, and cross-functional collaboration skills to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective cooling solutions.

    Responsibilities

    Radiator System Design

    • Design radiators and cooling systems for large diesel and gas engine applications.
    • Develop radiator core, tank, frame, fan shroud, mounting systems, and associated cooling package components.
    • Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials.
    • Perform packaging studies and integration within engine compartments.
    • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal design guidelines.

    Engineering Analysis

    • Perform design calculations related to:
      • Structural integrity
      • Pressure containment
      • Vibration and fatigue life
      • Thermal expansion

    • Support CFD and thermal performance assessments.
    • Utilize FEA tools to validate structural and durability requirements.

    Product Development

    • Lead design activities from concept through production release.
    • Evaluate new materials, manufacturing methods, and innovative cooling technologies.
    • Support prototype builds and engineering change management.
    • Conduct DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and tolerance stack-up analyses.

    Testing and Validation

    • Support laboratory and field-testing activities.
    • Investigate failures and recommend corrective actions.
    • Analyse test data and validate design performance.
    • Participate in durability, pressure cycling, vibration, thermal shock, and environmental testing.

    Manufacturing Support

    • Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize producibility and quality.
    • Support supplier development and technical reviews.
    • Resolve production issues related to design and assembly.
    • Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.

    Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with thermal engineers, engine integration teams, simulation engineers, suppliers, and customers.
    • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
    • Support customer issue resolution and product improvement activities.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master's Degree / Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
    • 3-8+ years of experience in mechanical design of cooling systems, radiators, heat exchangers, or related products.
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Heat exchanger design
      • Radiator construction and materials
      • Welded and brazed assemblies
