Manufacturing Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations related to rubber products, tyres and tubes. The selected candidate will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Process teams to ensure production, consistent product quality and efficient utilization of manpower, machines and materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and monitoring day-to-day manufacturing and production activities.
• Monitor production. Ensure compliance with defined SOPs and work instructions.
• Support improvement of productivity, process efficiency and machine utilization.
• Identify production losses, bottlenecks, defects and process deviations and assist in implementing actions.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Monitor important process parameters during rubber and tyre/tube manufacturing.
• Assist in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain production records, process reports and manufacturing documentation.
• Support implementation of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and TPM practices.
• Ensure handling and utilization of raw materials and minimize process wastage.
• Assist in monitoring machine performance and reporting breakdowns or abnormalities to the Maintenance team.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental procedures.
• Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring production and quality problems.
• Support trials of materials, processes, tooling or product improvements.
• Ensure production activities are carried out according to quality and production targets.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing, measurements and basic industrial engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or TPM will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Excel production reporting and data analysis.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• Communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts if required.
• Freshers with technical fundamentals are encouraged to apply.
