• Ability to read and interpret 2D & 3D drawings and GD&T
• Understanding of:
• Tolerances and fits
• Surface finish symbols
• Welding / coating / machining symbols
• Heat Treatment requirements
• Surface treatment and Coating
• Exposure to standards like ISO, ASME, DIN

2. Process Planning

• Preparation of:
• DFM
• Process flow charts
• Operation and Process Plan
• Cycle time estimation
• Zero Base Costing
• Selection of:
• Machines, tools, fixtures
• Cutting parameters
• Marching Fixtures
• Inspection equipment & Fixtures.
• Knowledge of:
• Manufacturing processes (Chip & Non Chip Forming)
• Heat treatment processes
• Surface treatment & Plating processes
• Basic Type of materials and properties
• Lean manufacturing basics

3. Sample Part Manufacturing / Development

• Handling new part development (NPD) / proto builds
• Process analysis and improvement
• Coordination with Production, Quality & Suppliers
• Trial runs and process validation
