About this role
The Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly & Testing) defines, documents, and executes the assembly and testing requirements for high-precision Jigs & Fixtures used in Electronic Gadget Manufacturing. This role bridges engineering design and execution by converting drawings into assembly process sheets, check sheets, and cross-disciplinary verification protocols across mechanical, electronic, PLC, and wiring domains. Additionally, this role takes full ownership of end-to-end testing requirements both at the Factory (FAT) and at Regional Customer Sites (Chennai, Bangalore, Hosur) during final commissioning and line integration.
Core Responsibilities
- Assembly Documentation & Cross-Linkage Verification
- Process & Check Sheets: Develop Assembly Process Sheets (APS) and check sheets detailing tolerances, torque values, and assembly sequences.
- Cross-Disciplinary Audit: Rigorously verify cross-linkages between mechanical structures, electronic sensors, PLC hardware, and wiring schemes prior to testing.
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) @ Toolroom
- Factory Dry Runs: Execute complete factory-level testing requirements, including dry runs of mechanical movements, pneumatic stroke limits, and basic PLC sequences.
- Pre-Shipment Validation: Validate sensor repeatability, signal integrity, ESD grounding, and safety interlocks against drawing specs before packing for dispatch.
- Site Testing (SAT) & Support (Chennai, Bangalore, Hosur)
- Site Acceptance Testing (SAT): Lead on-site testing protocols at customer manufacturing facilities in Chennai, Bangalore, or Hosur under live production conditions.
- Line Side Troubleshooting: Perform rapid debugging of mechanical alignment, wiring drops, or sensor logic errors to achieve successful First Article Inspection (FAI) and zero downtime.
Technical Requirements
- Education & Regional Mobility
- Qualification & Experience: B.E. / B.Tech (3–6 yrs) or Diploma (7–10 yrs) in Mechanical, Production, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Regional Deployment: Willingness to travel to customer plants across Chennai, Bangalore, and Hosur for site testing, commissioning, and issue resolution.
- Specialized Testing Skills
- Testing & Schematic Literacy: Proficiency in reading GD&T drawings, 3D CAD, pneumatic circuits, electrical/PLC wiring diagrams, and executing test protocols.
