About this role
We are looking for a skilled Manual Tester / QA Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in software testing. The candidate will be responsible for performing end-to-end manual testing activities, identifying defects, validating application functionality, and ensuring that software releases meet defined quality standards.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, API Testing, Database Testing, Defect Management, and Agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities - Analyze business and technical requirements to understand testing scope.
- Prepare Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Data, and Test Execution Reports.
- Execute manual test cases and identify application defects.
- Perform:
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- Integration Testing
- System Testing
- Smoke Testing
- Sanity Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- UAT Support
- Verify application functionality across different browsers, devices, and environments where applicable.
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar.
- Perform defect retesting and regression testing after fixes.
- Participate in defect triage meetings with Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.
- Perform API testing using Postman/Swagger or equivalent tools.
- Perform basic SQL/Database testing to validate backend data.
- Maintain test documentation and ensure proper traceability between requirements and test cases.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, and Retrospective.
- Coordinate with developers and business teams to resolve functional issues.
- Provide daily/weekly testing status updates to the QA Lead.
- Support UAT, release validation, and post-production verification activities.
- Identify potential quality risks and communicate them to the QA Lead/Project Manager.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices.
- 2-5 years of experience in Manual Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Good knowledge of Functional and Regression Testing.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Functional Testing
- Integration Testing
- System Testing
- Smoke & Sanity Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- UAT
- Good knowledge of Defect Life Cycle.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar defect management tools.
- Basic to good knowledge of SQL and Database Testing.
- Exposure to API Testing using Postman/Swagger.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Good knowledge of test case design techniques and test documentation.
- Experience in testing Web-based applications.
- Exposure to mobile application testing will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Automation Testing using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of API automation.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD and DevOps.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
- ISTQB certification.
- Experience in BFSI, Insurance, Banking, Payments, or E-commerce domain.
The ideal candidate should have:

- Ability to understand complex business requirements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good coordination skills with Developers, BAs, Business Users, and QA Leads.
