Manual Tester - UPI Payments

Experience: 3–12 Years

Job Description We are looking for a Manual Tester with hands-on experience in the UPI Payments domain. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of domestic payment systems, end-to-end payment transaction lifecycle, and banking applications. The candidate will be responsible for validating payment workflows, ensuring transaction accuracy, and delivering high-quality software solutions for digital payment platforms.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in

Manual Testing with the

Banking/Payments domain.

• Hands-on experience in

UPI Payments Testing .

• Good understanding of domestic payment systems:
• UPI
• IMPS
• NEFT
• RTGS
• Payment Gateway
• BillDesk
• Experience in Functional, Integration, Regression, System Integration Testing (SIT), UAT, and End-to-End Testing.
• Knowledge of the complete UPI transaction lifecycle (P2P, P2M, Collect Requests, Mandates, Refunds, Reversals, Chargebacks, Settlement, and Reconciliation).
• Experience in API Testing using

Postman or similar tools.

• Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as

JIRA or

ALM .

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Good analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), and user stories.
• Prepare and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and UAT testing.
• Validate UPI payment flows including:
• P2P Transfers
• P2M Transactions
• Merchant Payments
• QR Code Payments
• Collect Requests
• Mandates (AutoPay)
• Refunds & Reversals
• Transaction Status Validation
• Validate transaction success, failure, timeout, duplicate transaction handling, and reconciliation scenarios.
• Perform API validation and database verification.
• Log, track, and retest defects using JIRA/ALM.
• Coordinate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Teams to ensure timely defect resolution.
• Prepare Test Summary Reports and ensure quality deliverables.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of NPCI UPI guidelines.
• Experience in Mobile Banking or Internet Banking testing.
• Exposure to ISO 20022 or SWIFT payment messaging.
• Experience in Banking or FinTech projects.
