Manual Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements to understand application features.
• Prepare and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
• Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, Sanity, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
• Work closely with developers and business analysts to resolve issues.
• Validate bug fixes and perform retesting.
• Maintain test documentation and prepare test execution reports.
• Participate in requirement review meetings and provide quality-related feedback.
• Ensure applications meet quality standards before production release.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience in Functional, Regression, System, Integration, and UAT testing.
• Knowledge of defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
• Experience in creating and maintaining test cases and test plans.
• Good understanding of databases and SQL queries for data validation.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in Manual Testing.
• ISTQB certification is an added advantage.
• Exposure to API testing using Postman and basic automation knowledge is preferred.
