We are looking for an experienced Manager - US Accounting to lead and strengthen our US accounting function. This role requires a seasoned finance professional with deep expertise in US GAAP, hands-on experience partnering with onshore (US) teams, and a strong command of consolidation, compliance, and intercompany accounting. The ideal candidate will bring both technical rigour and a process-improvement mindset, along with prior exposure to mergers and acquisitions involving US entities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee the full spectrum of US accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP.
    • Lead the consolidation of accounts across multiple entities and subsidiaries, ensuring accurate and timely group-level reporting.
    • Manage intercompany account transactions, including reconciliations, eliminations, and resolution of discrepancies.
    • Maintain strong working knowledge of subsidiary accounting structures and ensure accurate reporting at the subsidiary level.
    • Partner closely with onshore (US-based) teams to align on accounting policies, reporting timelines, and audit requirements.
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with US accounting regulations, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
    • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
    • Support acquisition activities involving US firms, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration of financial records.
    • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/quarter-end/year-end close activities.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (auditors, tax teams, cross-functional departments) to support audits, tax filings, and budgeting processes.
    • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close process, preparing journal entries, balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations, and analyses for various accounts promptly, including but not limited to prepaids, accruals, leases (ASC 842), fixed assets, and account reconciliations.
    • Assist with accounts payable operations, including vendor invoices, payment processing, and purchase order reconciliation.
    • Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes using ERP systems or other tools.
    • Candidates should possess solid experience with journal entries (accounting) and general ledger processes.
    • Candidates should possess proficiency in managing fixed assets, including capitalisation policies and depreciation.
    • Demonstrable experience with deep GL accounting processes and a proven ability to lead a team through monthly and quarterly close cycles.

    Requirements:

    • 10+ years of professional experience in accounting.
    • Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
    • Proven experience working directly with onshore (US) teams.
    • Strong hands-on experience in consolidation of accounts across multiple entities.
    • Solid understanding of US accounting compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks.
    • Demonstrated track record of leading process improvement initiatives.
    • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions involving US-based firms.
    • Strong working knowledge of subsidiary accounting structures and reporting.
    • Hands-on expertise in intercompany account transactions, including reconciliations and eliminations.

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and cultures.
    • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
