Manager - Taxation

Role & responsibilities

• Manage IMGCs Direct and Indirect Tax matters, including Income Tax, GST, TDS and other applicable taxes.

• Independently understand and assess tax issues and provide a clear recommendation to the reporting manager, with external advice sought wherever required.

• Coordinate with tax advisors on tax assessments, litigation, appeals and other tax matters and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
• Handle tax notices, assessments and departmental proceedings, including reviewing notices, preparing responses/submissions and attending assessment proceedings and departmental visits.

• Review and ensure timely completion of Income Tax, GST, TDS and other statutory compliances.

• Review tax computations, tax provisions, advance tax, deferred tax and other tax-related accounting matters.

• Review GST reconciliations, input tax credit, TDS reconciliations and other tax-related reconciliations.

• Monitor changes in tax laws, notifications, circulars and judicial developments and assess their relevance and impact on IMGC.

• Monitor tax exposures and potential risks and proactively highlight significant matters to the reporting manager.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen tax processes, controls, documentation and systems.

Preferred candidate profile

• Practical knowledge of Direct and Indirect Tax, particularly Income Tax, GST and TDS.

• Hands-on experience in tax assessments, notices, audits and departmental proceedings.

• BFSI experience will be an added advantage.
