About the Role

As 66degrees continues its rapid growth as a premier Google Cloud professional services partner, the security of our internal systems, employee identities, and client data remains a top priority. We are seeking a hands-on, highly technical Manager of Security Operations (SecOps) to lead and establish our dedicated internal InfoSec operational function.

Reporting directly to the U.S. Director overseeing IT, IAM, and security infrastructure, this role will take ownership of day-to-day security operations across a global workforce of 550+ employees. The role involves building and managing security monitoring processes, leading incident response, enforcing compliance frameworks, and acting as a key escalation point and mentor for global teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong administrative and security expertise, with the ability to automate processes and effectively communicate risk insights to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Incident Response

• Build, own, and manage daily operations of security tools including SIEM (Google SecOps/Splunk), EDR/XDR (SentinelOne), email security, cloud security, and endpoint security (Rippling MDM posture management)
• Serve as the primary incident lead for security events; investigate, contain, remediate, and conduct post-incident reviews
• Develop, document, and maintain security playbooks and SOPs for securing and hardening systems within the 66degrees tech stack

Vulnerability & Posture Management

• Conduct continuous vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS)
• Partner with leadership to implement and refine Zero Trust, Device Trust, Browser Trust, and IAM policies
• Secure core business applications (Google Workspace, GCP, Slack, Salesforce, Rippling) against misconfigurations and unauthorized access

Leadership & Global Enablement

• Act as a security SME and escalation point for IT Service Desk and global teams
• Train and upskill teams on Tier 1 security triage (phishing, malware alerts, account issues, etc.)
• Drive organization-wide security awareness through training and simulated phishing campaigns (KnowBe4), promoting least-privilege practices

Compliance & Risk

• Lead GRC initiatives including platform buildouts (Drata, SafeBase), audit readiness, and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
• Support go-to-market and legal teams with security questionnaires and vendor risk assessments
• Track and report key SecOps metrics (e.g., time to detect/respond, patch compliance) to leadership

Required Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in Information Security / IT Security / Security Operations, with 2–3 years in a leadership role
• Strong expertise in Google Workspace security and cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Hands-on experience with EDR (SentinelOne, CrowdStrike), SIEM (Splunk, Google SecOps), and IAM tools (Okta, GCP, Azure, AWS, Rippling)
• Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and GRC tools (Drata, Ostendio)
• Scripting proficiency (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Google Apps Script) for automation
• Strong communication skills with experience managing global stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GCIA
• Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer certification
• Google Cybersecurity Certificate
• Experience in consulting / professional services environments
• Experience building and scaling internal security teams
