    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales MIS for all retail outlets.
    • Analyse outlet-wise sales against targets, budgets, and previous-period performance.
    • Monitor the number of bills, average bill value (ABV), sales growth, and product-wise sales mix.
    • Identify outlets achieving or missing their sales targets and analyse the reasons.

    • Identify the reasons for sales fluctuations and underperformance at individual outlets.
    • Analyse the impact of bill count, ABV, product mix, discounts, and complimentary sales on revenue.
    • Investigate unusual trends and highlight deviations requiring management attention.
    • Explain what happened, why it happened, the financial impact, and the recommended corrective action.
    • Provide specific recommendations for each underperforming outlet rather than general observations.
    3. Outlet Cost & Profitability Analysis
    • Prepare and analyse outlet-wise profit and loss statements.
    • Monitor food costs, packaging costs, wastage, discounts, and other outlet operating expenses.
    • Analyse gross margin, contribution margin, and outlet-level profitability.
    • Compare costs and profitability across outlets to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
    • Identify outlets with high costs, declining margins, or recurring losses and recommend corrective measures.
    • Evaluate the impact of sales growth, cost changes, and operating expenses on outlet profitability.
    4. Cost Control & Loss Prevention
    • Analyse wastage, stock discrepancies, complimentary products, discounts, and abnormal consumption.
    • Identify potential revenue leakages and cost-control weaknesses at outlets.
    • Compare actual costs against standard costs and established benchmarks.
    • Highlight unusual transactions, deviations, and recurring operational losses for investigation.
    • Recommend practical controls to reduce avoidable expenses and improve profitability.
    • Coordinate with Operations, Inventory, and Finance teams to validate findings and monitor corrective actions.
    5. Sales Forecasting & Target Setting
    • Assist in setting realistic monthly sales targets for individual outlets.
    • Prepare sales forecasts using historical performance, growth trends, and business conditions.
    • Analyse the gap between projected and actual sales and recommend timely corrective actions.
    • Evaluate outlet performance against sales, margin, and profitability targets.
    • Support management in identifying opportunities to improve revenue and profitability at existing outlets.
    6. Management Reporting & Recommendations
    • Prepare concise dashboards highlighting outlet-wise sales, margins, costs, and profitability.
    • Submit monthly reports highlighting critical variances, loss-making outlets, and improvement opportunities.
    • Present data-backed recommendations with estimated financial benefits and implementation timelines.
    • Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure that approved recommendations are implemented.
    • Track the results of corrective actions and report the actual financial improvements achieved.
    • Escalate significant adverse trends and potential losses to management promptly.
    7. MIS Automation & Data Accuracy
    • Extract and analyse sales data from POS/ERP systems and accounting software.
    • Use advanced MS Excel to prepare accurate, timely, and standardised MIS reports.
    • Develop automated dashboards and exception reports to reduce manual reporting.
    • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of outlet-wise sales and profitability data.
    • Maintain supporting calculations, analysis, and documentation for management review.
    Required Skills & Competencies
    • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial analysis, and retail sales performance.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, SUMIFS, and dashboard preparation.

    • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to identify root causes and recommend practical, measurable solutions.
    • Good communication and presentation skills.
    • Experience with POS/ERP systems and Power BI is an added advantage.

    5. Value of cost savings and profitability improvements achieved through implemented recommendations.
    6. Improvement in sales performance visibility, gross margins, and outlet profitability.
    7. Timely follow-up and closure of corrective actions with the Operations team.
    8. Accuracy of sales forecasting and target-versus-actual reporting.

    Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a Cost Accountant or finance professional with strong analytical and commercial skills who can independently evaluate the financial performance of every retail outlet.
The candidate must go beyond preparing reports and demonstrate the ability to identify why an outlet is underperforming, quantify the financial impact, and recommend specific actions to improve sales and profitability.
