POSITION SUMMARYThe Planning Manager ensures efficient production and material planning by optimizing resources, coordinating supply chain operations, and driving process improvements. This role focuses on capacity analysis, scheduling, cost optimization, and compliance while fostering team development and operational excellence.RESPONSIBILITIESProduction & Material Planning

• Ensure the effective functioning of production and material planning through seamless coordination with the team.
• Assess in-house production capacity, analyse resource loading, and schedule operations accordingly.
• Optimize outsourcing decisions by strategically planning and scheduling in-house capacity.
• Align internal material supply with assembly Takt time to ensure smooth manufacturing workflow.
• Implement a rolling six-month material planning strategy based on inputs from operations planning.

Material Procurement & Inventory Management

• Utilize ERP-based Material Requirement Planning to streamline procurement by reviewing material availability and open orders.
• Analyse historical production data to determine optimal machine composition and ensure timely material availability to meet customer demand.
• Minimize air freight costs, optimize inventory levels, and prevent material shortages through efficient material planning.
• Coordinate with the HUB to determine material requirements and develop cost-effective shipping plans.

Process Optimization & Efficiency

• Monitor assembly and production losses, implementing corrective actions to eliminate inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with operations planning, assembly, and manufacturing teams to manage customer change requests and address production discrepancies.
• Prepare and review periodic departmental performance reports, taking proactive steps to enhance efficiency and eliminate non-value-added activities.
• Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) standards.

Team Development & Leadership

• Build and develop a capable team with clear goals, structured performance monitoring, and continuous development initiatives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

QUALIFICATION & SKILL-SET:Education:

• Technical Graduation

Years of Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in leading Production and Material Planning functions in the manufacturing industry.

Certifications (Optional):

• Certification in Production & Material Planning ERP Modules.
• Certification course in Data Analytics.
