Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in payroll management and statutory compliance, with strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, hands-on experience with Zing HR software, and excellent Excel skills. The candidate should be comfortable leveraging automation and AI tools to streamline payroll processes, improve accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payroll Management

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, reimbursements, incentives, and full and final settlements.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly payroll processing for 3000+ employees.
• Handle payroll reconciliations, payroll reports, and employee payroll queries.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and timely disbursement.

2. Statutory Compliance

• Manage and ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations, including:
• Provident Fund (PF)
• Employees’ State Insurance (ESIC)
• Labour Welfare Fund (LWF)
• Professional Tax (PT)
• Gratuity
• TDS and other applicable payroll-related statutory requirements.
• Ensure timely filing of returns, deposits, challans, and statutory reports.
• Monitor changes in labour laws and statutory regulations and implement necessary updates.
• Maintain statutory records, documentation, and compliance calendars.
• Coordinate with auditors, government authorities, and external consultants as required.

3. HRMS & Payroll Systems

• Manage payroll operations using Zing HR software.
• Ensure accurate employee master data, salary structures, attendance inputs, leave records, and payroll configurations.

4. Excel & MIS Reporting

• Demonstrate excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, PivotTables, lookups, data validation, and reconciliation techniques.
• Prepare payroll MIS, statutory compliance reports, variance analysis, and other management dashboards.
• Analyse payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.

5. Automation & Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive payroll and compliance activities.
• Use appropriate automation and AI tools to improve payroll accuracy, reporting, reconciliations, and operational efficiency.
• Develop automated reports, templates, and workflows to reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure data confidentiality, accuracy, and appropriate human validation when using AI-enabled tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in payroll management and statutory compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of Indian payroll processes, labour laws, and statutory requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Zing HR software is an added advantage.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll MIS reporting.
• Practical understanding of automation tools and AI applications in HR and payroll.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Strong coordination skills and the ability to work effectively with HR, Finance, employees, auditors, and external stakeholders.
