Manager on Duty

Role & responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department during the assigned shift.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing, diagnostics, billing, ICU, OT, wards, security, and support departments.
• Monitor patient flow, bed availability, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Coordinate and escalate critical/emergency cases, trauma, MLC, and mass casualty situations.
• Address patient/attendant concerns and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, NABH standards, patient safety, and infection-control protocols.
• Maintain shift reports and ensure proper handover between shifts.

Preferred candidate profile

• Ability to handle emergency situations and work under pressure.
• Good knowledge of hospital and emergency department operations.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience in a multi-specialty/tertiary-care hospital preferred.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
