Role: Manager - Motor Claims

Job location: Lower Parel, Mumbai

Role & responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end motor claims processing intimation, registration, documentation, and settlement — across assigned branches/regions.
• Review and validate surveyor reports to assess the legitimacy and accuracy of motor vehicle accident claims.
• Monitor claim admissibility by verifying policy coverage and ensuring adherence to underwriting terms.
• Coordinate with field surveyors, workshops, and regional teams for timely vehicle inspections and estimate reviews.
• Review repair estimates, validate technical accuracy, and negotiate with garages/workshops to control repair costs.
• Scrutinize claim documents to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or potential fraud indicators; escalate to the investigation team as needed.
• Ensure claims are processed and settlement notes prepared within defined Turnaround Time (TAT).
• Drive compliance with IRDAI regulations and internal claims policies across all handled claims.
• Track and report claims MIS — volumes, TAT adherence, leakage, fraud trends, and settlement ratios — to senior management.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams (Underwriting, Legal, Finance) on high-value or contested claims.
• Support process improvement initiatives and standardization of claims assessment methodology across the network.
• Mentor and guide branch-level claims executives/assessors on quality and compliance standards.
