Manager-Electrical Design

Role & responsibilities

1. Electrical System Design & Engineering:

• Design, review, and approve electrical systems for Oil and Gas Projects including:
• EHV Substation Design and Review for 66kV/132kV/220kV
• Medium Voltage System 6.6kV to 33kV
• Low Voltage System 240V to 433V
• STG/GTG and EDG System
• Busduct Systems
• Auxiliary AC and DC systems, UPS and battery systems
• Earthing, lightning protection and plant illumination systems
• Prepare and review SLDs, protection schemes, cable sizing, load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonic studies, layouts, BOQs and technical specifications.
• Prepare bill of quantity for all the items including lot items during tender and execution stage.

2. Standards, Compliance & Best Practices:

Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, CEA, CBIP, NEC, NBC, NFPA, TIA942 / Uptime Institute guidelines and utility requirements. Lead design reviews, technical risk assessments, constructability reviews, and value engineering initiatives to improve CAPEX, OPEX, reliability, and maintainability.

3. Cross-functional Team Management:

Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Process, Procurement, Construction, and Project Management teams. Lead technical discussions with clients, consultants, OEMs, utilities, and EPC partners. Support vendor evaluation, technical bid analysis, and design approvals.Provide construction, commissioning, FAT/SAT and grid connection support.

Preferred candidate profile

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

10+ years of experience in EHV/MV Substation, Plant Engineering and Power System Engineering

Strong experience in Oil and Gas Projects, MV/HV Systems and Project Execution

Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and large-value EPC/SITC projects
