Manager - Direct Tax

Role:

As we scale rapidly, we are building strong enabling functions to support our journey. One of the most vital pillars in this growth in Direct Tax practice.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant who will work closely with the leadership team. This colleague will ensure quality client delivery in Advisory & Litigation covering Direct Taxation, Corporate Tax and International Tax for the premium clients.

Responsibilities:

Assist in coordination and delivery of multiple projects within tight timeframe and deadline:

• Provide support in Advising clients on complex tax matters.
• Help Senior Manager/Director lead tax engagements. Effectively manage submissions, assessment, and appeal hearings before the CIT(A), Tribunals, High Court, Supreme Court.
• Contribute to Tax risk management and assurance processes under guidance of senior team members and ensure strict adherence to SOPs.
• Assist in Overseeing the resource chargeability.

Managing Client and deliverables through quality results:

• Support senior team members in fee negotiations and discussions on scope for business across clientele.
• Support in gathering and analyzing Business Intelligence related to Direct Tax.
• Build the firm's market visibility and client experience by creating & maintaining strong independent relationships with clients.
• Build & nurture an effective working relationship with Tax authorities, business & functional heads and ensure close involvement of the local & international tax teams and external service providers under guidance of senior team members.

Team Management:

• Ensure compliance of all aspects of direct taxation.
• Facilitate development, training, and mentorship of junior staff on projects and contribute to assess performance for tax engagement and year-end provisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide support and assistance in advising within local and global jurisdictions.

Experience & Qualification

CA with 5+ years of post-qualification experience

Skills Required:

• Expertise in Direct taxation, industry best practices and Indian & International Tax laws. Should have basic knowledge of allied laws such as BMA, FEMA, etc.
• Strong financial or statistical analytical abilities with client focused and commercial awareness.
• Strong industry network and business acquisition, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Excellent Mentoring, leadership, decision-making & inter-personal skills.
• Effective communication and ability to articulate and cascade the vision and values.
• Highly principled with strong ethics.
